*Edition 2/2004 of the German “Spiegel” magazine says: “Polyphenols protect the cells and help in decreasing stress. Furthermore, they increase bone density, and reduce harmful cholesterols which are considered as co-causes of arteriosclerosis and heart attacks.” 36 voluntary subjects will take part in a chocolate diet within the next few months.

**The Society for Nutritional Medicine and Dietetics, Bad Aachen (Germany), recommends that patients with high blood pressure eat half a bar of dark chocolate every day. This would reduce “their blood pressure measurably”, as written in the German magazine “süßwarenproduktion”, edition 2/2004.

CATECHINS protect the heart. Catechins belong to the flavonoid family – a group of biological pigments. They have strong antioxidant capabilities, which have more of an effect than Vitamin C and E. Catechins may help to protect against heart disease and cancer.
Catechins effectively catch free radicals and prevent deposits in the blood vessel walls*, regulate the blood pressure**, and stimulate the immune system.
The positive medicinal effects of Catechins are also found in green tea and red wine.

Copper is a trace element and acts as a catalyst in the formation of hemoglobin.
